Queijo da Serra de Estrela

Serra da Estrela Cheese is a Portuguese cheese made with sheep’s mil, and with protected designation of origin. The oldest mentions of this cheese date back to 12th century, making it the oldest of Portuguese cheeses. It is one of the most famous sheep’s cheeses in the world. It was present at royal tables and was even mentioned by Gil Vicente in the 16th century.
